Pedigree Analysis of Modern Muscadine Cultivars Reveals a Narrow Genetic Base

چکیده
Muscadine grape ( Vitis rotundifolia var. ) is a rare crop in that it has transitioned from wild fruiting plant to domesticated fruit within the past 150 years. Furthermore, this domestication process was carried out by just few institutions published copious records of origin and traits first selections, goals methods breeding programs, pedigrees releases. We thus have near complete record interesting crop. Early efforts made use fewer than dozen most which were collected coastal plain North Carolina South Carolina. This narrow germplasm base led increasing levels inbreeding recent muscadine cultivar To better understand muscadine, 54 cultivars released since 1970 examined. Only 15 founders (founding clones) identified appeared more two cultivars, five these represent open pollination events may not indicate addition new genetic material. By far used founder ‘Scuppernong’, 53 had an average contribution 22.8%. The remaining varied 0.9% 14.8% their contribution. Coancestry coefficients between averaged 0.18, but often much higher among fresh-market Analysis vine vigor as measured trunk caliper seedling progenies suggests coancestry greater 0.23 result below vigor. University Georgia program evaluating multiple accessions reduce increase diversity its germplasm.

Increasing the Genetic Base of Modern Cultivars of Eggplant of the Semi-Long Black Type
The eggplant (Solanum melongena) semi-long black varietal type is the most important in most European markets. Although open pollinated, pure lines and F1 hybrid cultivars exist within this varietal group, the latter predominate in the commercial production of eggplants, especially under greenhouse conditions. However, molecular markers studies have found that modern F1 hybrids present a reduce...
متن کاملPedigree Analysis for Genetic Counseling
We report on the design and implementation of a prototype program, GENINFER , to assist genetic counselors in evaluating the risk of recurrence of genetic disorders based on the analysis of family pedigrees. The present version of the program integrates a convenient graphical interface that permits counselors to draw, examine and modify family pedigrees and to enter information relevant to ri...
متن کاملGenetic variability and population structure of Raeini Cashmere goat breed assessed from pedigree analysis
Pedigree information which collected from 1979 to 2012 were used to study the genetic variability and population structure of Raeini Cashmere goat, taking kids born from 2009 to 2012 into account as reference population. Averages of inbreeding coefficients in whole and inbred populations were computed to be 0.04% and 4.41%, respectively. Considering the reference population, average inbreeding ...

15 صفحه اولA comparative analysis of ISSR and RAPD markers for studying genetic diversity in Iranian pistachio cultivars
Pistachio is one of the most important horticultural products of Iran. The best way to get the maximum yield is to have genetically pure and monotonous gardens. Thereby, study of genetic variation and providing genetic identifications, make this possible to have homogenous gardens with high performance genotypes. In the present study, genetic diversity of 19 Iranian pistachio cultivars was asse...
